1:30pm – Welcome and Introduction by Judiann of FoodLab
1:45pm – Opening keynote presentation by Chris Gobler of SoMAS
2:15pm – NY Sea Grant Seafood Technology Specialist Presentation
2:30- 2:40 – Short Video: Redefining Our Relationship with the Ocean
2:40-3:00pm– Indigenous Presentation by Tela Troge and the Shinnecock Kelp Farmers explains the 10,000 year local history of using kelp as fertilizer.
3-3:20pm – Kevin Swope of the Montauk Seaweed Supply Company presents explanation of New York State’s first small business to manufacture kelp and seaweed products for the public marketplace, video presentation, free samples for all guests
3:20 pm – Edwina von Gal of the Perfect Earth Project presents on the rapidly expanding community of east end horticulturists and landscapers now using locally produced kelp products to complete the full Sea to Soil circle at high profile properties
3:30 pm – Closing remarks by Fred Thiele
