The Cambridge Global Food Security Initiative is an online network of researchers from the University who are working to understand challenges associated with food security and to develop solutions that are sustainable, socially equitable and ecologically successful. Food security is a cross-disciplinary issue requiring interactions and collaborative research between scientists, engineers, policy makers, economists and public health workers at local, national and international scales. The aim of this network is to promote interactions and knowledge sharing between these groups. The main research themes are plant biology, infectious diseases, food landscapes, resources and regulatory influences, supply chains, global governance, political economy of hunger and food supply, food & health, and modeling.
